The Shining

Recently I have watched several movies on a list that made of some older and newer 'classic movies'. Movies such as A Clockwork Orange and Alien, but even more recently did I watch the Stephen King novel The Shining. I'm finding many parody's of the Shining in many of movies and TV shows that I have watched over the years. It's really amazing to finally see the original movie after seeing these spin offs for so long.

For a quick review/thoughts of mine about the movie: I would definitely say I really enjoyed this film from start to finish. The movie can be tense when absolutely nothing is happening, not only that but it gives you little to no reason to be tense at all. There is a scene of the movie with Jack Torrence (Jack Nicholson) just stares out into the winter cold with a look of madness about him. The scene has intense music in the background leading you to believe that something is going to happen, when the screen goes black and 'Wednesday' flashes onto the screen with a sudden boom of sound making everyone jump. Everything about this movie was excellently executed with my favorite parts being when Jack is talking to the bartender or the waiter showing his mind turn to insanity.

I'm going to give this movie a 4 out of 4.

Here is my favorite parody of all time for this film
